Building Materials Suppliers

Calera’s carbon-negative fine and coarse aggregates and supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) allow building material suppliers to market green products for use in buildings, pavement, and other structures and projects using sand, gravel, or cement. These products can fill the growing demand for sustainable materials and replace high-carbon footprint materials with carbon negative materials.  For example, a cubic yard of conventional concrete embodies 630 pounds of emitted carbon.  By replacing 20 percent of the cement component with Calera SCM, 20 percent of the cement with fly ash, and all of the aggregate with Calera aggregate, the footprint becomes negative 1145 pounds per cubic yard.  This swing from positive to negative footprint is 1775 pounds—close to a ton—for each cubic yard of concrete.
